Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital

Never Stop Thinking about Tomorrow

Last year, The Wilbert Foundation had the very good fortune to meet with the fundraising team and the head of pediatric chaplaincy at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital offers a comprehensive Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy program designed to provide emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, and staff.

“We are deeply grateful for the generous support of the Wilbert Foundation. Your contribution has enabled us to offer meaningful and compassionate support to those who have experienced profound loss.”

The chaplaincy services include:

  • providing a calming presence during times of crisis,

  • listening to patients and families,

  • arranging faith-specific rites and rituals,

  • offering bereavement support, and

  • helping with medical ethical issues.

The Wilbert Foundation was honored to be chosen to provide support for this program.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS:

A Memorial Service for Bereaving Families: provides a space for families to gather,

remember, and honor their loved ones. The service offers a sense of community and support during a difficult time.

Healing Rocks: As a lasting symbol of remembrance, each family receives a healing rock. These rocks, inscribed with comforting words, serve as a tangible keepsake, offering solace and a connection to their cherished memories.

Tree Planting Memorial: In memory of the children lost, a tree is planted at Lansing Park. This living tribute not only honors their memory but also symbolizes growth, resilience, and the enduring love that will continue to bloom.

"It is only through the partnership of the Wilbert Foundation that we may continue to offer to the latest and most comprehensive care.  We are so grateful to your commitment to our mission and programs.  Together, we are making a difference for the children and families of our region."

CREATION OF A

Five-Year Partnership

In 2025, the Wilbert Foundation created a five-year partnership with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital to continue the innovation of their pediatric chaplaincy program. Going forward, it is the Foundation’s intent to continue this model created in partnership with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital at additional selected children’s hospitals across the country.

The goal of this “seed” program is to continue to provide support to the pediatric chaplaincy programs at participating hospitals and to add a level of funding to support innovative initiatives within these hospitals.
